Free Share Offers UK 2026

Every UK investing app currently handing out a free share when you sign up and fund your account. We track the value, the qualifying deposit and how long it takes to land.

Capital at risk. Free share values vary and are decided by the platform. Always read the offer T&Cs before qualifying.

UK investing apps hand out free shares to bring in new customers, and the offers change constantly. Trading 212, Freetrade, Lightyear and InvestEngine have all run free-share promos in the last twelve months — some worth a fraction of a pound, some worth £100+ if you get lucky on the random draw.

This page is the running list. We check it every few weeks, note the qualifying deposit (usually £1–£100), and flag any offers that can be stacked with cashback from Topcashback or Quidco for an extra £10–£40 on top of the free share itself.

None of these offers are get-rich-quick. But sign up to three or four of them across a Saturday morning and you'll usually walk away with £30–£80 of actual investable shares — plus a working ISA-eligible account you can leave alone forever.

We're finalising this list.

How it works

How to claim a free share safely: open the account, deposit the minimum shown, wait the qualifying period (usually 3–7 days), and the share appears in your holdings. Sell it and withdraw the cash, or leave it invested. UK investing apps are FSCS-protected up to £85,000, so your cash and holdings are covered even if the platform goes bust.

Stack it: most of these free-share offers can be combined with a cashback bonus (£10–£40) on Topcashback or Quidco. Check our hidden cashback offers page before you sign up — clicking through the cashback link first, then completing the free-share offer, pays out both.

Frequently asked

Are free share offers really free?

Yes — you keep whatever share you're allocated, and you can sell it and withdraw the cash immediately in most cases. The only 'cost' is the qualifying deposit, which is your own money and comes straight back out when you withdraw.

What's the average free share worth?

For random-draw offers (Trading 212, Freetrade), most people get a share worth £3–£15. A small percentage get shares worth £50–£100+. Fixed-value offers usually promise £10–£25 in shares.

Do I have to keep the money invested?

No. Once the free share lands (usually 3–7 days after qualifying), you can sell it and withdraw both the share proceeds and your original deposit.

Can I do more than one?

Yes — each investing app is a separate provider, so you can claim a free share from Trading 212, Freetrade, Lightyear and InvestEngine in the same day. Just make sure to hit the qualifying deposit on each one.

Will it affect my credit score?

No. Opening an investing account is a soft check only — it doesn't leave a footprint on your credit file.
